Defensive Driving

Public Entity Risk Management Authority (PERMA) is sponsoring a virtual Defensive Driver Training event. Motor vehicles accidents were the leading cause of work-related fatalities in 2020. This training is intended for employees, supervisors and managers who are assigned driving duties.

This training focuses on using defensive driving principles to help reduce the risk of motor vehicle accidents. Topics include: distracted driving, driving hazards, increasing awareness, reducing complacency, road rage, safe driving behaviors, scanning techniques, unsafe driving behaviors, and vehicle safety features.

Speaker: Eric Marcinkowski

Eric Marcinkowski provides safety and risk management consultative services to a variety of public entities, including muncipalities, non-profits, housing authorities and water treatment facilities.  He regularly provides training, conducts assessments, and assists with safety program development and ergonomics.  Eric has over 28 years’ experience as a safety professional and has served as an Environmental Health and Safety Engineer for a healthcare company and a Firefighter/EMT
