Mandated Reporter

The Public Entity Risk Management Authority (PERMA) and Bay Cities Joint Powers (BCJPIA) are sponsoring a training workshop event on the topic of mandated reporter requirements. Mandated reporters include those staff who work directly with children, elders, and dependent elders. It also includes administrators, supervisors, and human resources staff. They are required to report child and elder abuse when they know of or have reasonable suspicion of child or elder abuse.
During this training we will review the following topics:
- Definitions and signs of child abuse and neglect
- Identifying molesters
- Reporting requirements
- After the incident; documenting, responding, and disclosure requirements
- Prevention measures for staff
- Definitions and signs of elder and dependent adults abuse and neglect.
Speaker: Lisa Harvey
Lisa has 27 years of experience in risk management providing services such as comprehensive property, liability, and workers’ compensation assessments, policy development and review, ergonomic evaluations, loss analyses, safety training, and playground inspections. She currently serves as the risk control manager for a self-insured pool comprised of 11 school districts, the risk control manager for 11 school districts and is the risk control manager for Bay Cities.
